Multilingual counter

Ten languages on the counter.

The Sunshine catchment is one of the most linguistically diverse in Melbourne. The pharmacy team speaks ten languages directly, and for any other language we book a free interpreter through TIS National (131 450). The translation widget at the top right of every page renders the whole site in 50 languages.

Ten counter languages

English, Vietnamese, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Turkish, Greek, Macedonian, Filipino and Assyrian, every day, all dosing hours.

Free TIS interpreter

For any other language, we book a free phone interpreter through TIS National (131 450). The pharmacy covers the call.

Full page translation

The top-right widget translates this entire site into 50 languages via Google Translate. Clinical terms can be verified with the pharmacist in English at the counter.

Same staff, same shift

Mina, Sam and Wenly rotate across a two-week cycle. The same hand-over names recur week after week, in the language you speak.

Support workers welcome

If you bring a support worker, family member or interpreter with you, the side-counter workflow is designed to include them.

Counter conversation, not chrome

The clinical conversation that matters happens at the counter in the language you speak, not as a translated form.

How it works

Three steps, no surprises.

  1. Step 1

    Tell us your language

Phone or walk in. The dosing pharmacist will check whether a counter language match is available that shift.

  2. Step 2

If not, we book an interpreter

Free, by phone, through TIS National. Usually within five minutes.

  3. Step 3

    You speak in your language

The clinical conversation, the SafeScript explanation, the dosing instructions, all in your language.
