Pharmacy service
Blood-borne virus support
Hepatitis C is curable for most people, and testing is simple and confidential. The pharmacy is a low-pressure first step — we talk you through the options and connect you to the right service, with no judgement and no need to explain more than you want to.
The pathway
How to use this service, step by step.
- 01
Start the conversation
Mention it at the counter or phone the pharmacist. There is no appointment, and you never have to explain how you may have been exposed.
- 02
Understand your options
The pharmacist explains where confidential hepatitis C, hepatitis B and HIV testing is available locally, and what current treatment involves.
- 03
Warm referral
We connect you to a specialist liver or sexual-health service, or your prescriber, so you are expected when you arrive rather than starting from scratch.
Good to know
- Testing is confidential and the conversation is led entirely by you.
- You can ask about this at the same visit as your dose — nothing has to be a separate trip.
Not sure where to start?
