No cost
Fully funded by the Commonwealth. The pharmacy claims to PPA, you walk out with the product.
Take-home naloxone
The Commonwealth Take Home Naloxone Program lets us supply naloxone at no out-of-pocket cost to anyone at risk of opioid overdose, and to their family and support people. No prescription required, no Medicare card needed, no questions about why.
Fully funded by the Commonwealth. The pharmacy claims to PPA, you walk out with the product.
Naloxone is a Schedule 3 (Pharmacist-Only) medicine. The pharmacist supplies it after a brief conversation.
How to spot an overdose, how to use the spray or injection, what to do while waiting for paramedics. Takes a few minutes.
You don't need to be on pharmacotherapy yourself. If someone in your life is at risk, you qualify.
We do not share the supply with Centrelink, your employer or your family without your written consent.
Lost it, gave it to someone who used it, expired? Come back, we resupply.
How it works
Phone first if you'd like, but you can walk in. Dosing hours suit if you're already a regular.
The pharmacist asks a few questions to choose the right formulation (nasal spray vs injection) and provides training.
You take it home. We document the supply with the PPA, not with your prescriber, GP or insurer.
